Baby Photo Shoot!

Donna Poehner at Zia Portrait Design did a newborn baby photo shoot for us-- wow, another batch of gorgeous photos! Is this child destined for greatness, or what? This is the best one I've seen so far, but hopefully there will be some good heinie shots forthcoming. (Of Nora.)

Next up: the pageant circuit! Anybody know where I can get some quality baby mascara?

I love our nursery! It's the coolest room in our house by far: chocolate, lime, orange and white, with a groovy shag carpet. In trying to get a more comprehensive shot of this tiny room I've also gained a new respect for real estate agents.

Thanks to my sister-in-law Patsy for sewing the awesome curtains and windowseat cushion!

A Sign of Things to Come?

I was washing my hands after a diaper change the other day when I looked in the mirror and realized I had poop on my chin. I guess I should get used to that, metaphorically speaking.

Thing is, it didn't even really bother me.

I think I'm starting to come out of the new baby fog... I may even be ready to engage with the outside world sometime soon. I've been living in a half-sleep with the shades drawn all day for a few weeks now, barely able to tell day from night. I think I'm starting to lose my pigmentation and possibly my eyesight like one of those freaky cave fish. Time to get outdoors.

Nora Elizabeth was born last Tuesday, November 4, at 1:12 a.m. She weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs, 12 oz and is perfect in every way.
